BATTLE
OF THE BANDS - RULES
All rules are subject
to change at any time. Failure to
comply with rules will result in TERMINATION
and DISQUALIFICATION from Battle.
1) ALL BANDS
MUST REGISTER. Any bands who do not
accurately register their band will
be unable to compete in the battle.
Registration fee is $20 and NONNEGIOTABLE.
At registration, you will receive
your tickets and a copy of these rules.
2) ALL information
provided must be 100% accurate. Any
false information will result in disqualification
3) Ticket sales
do not determine whether or not you
win, but they do help, as 50% of your
performance is judged by crowd response.
There is a minimum draw of 15 heads
for the first round. Any bands who
sell less than 15 tickets will automatically
be disqualified, and unable to compete.
Ticket sales also determine your set
time. The band who sells the most
tickets gets first pick at what time
they perform. Band to sell the second
highest gets second pick, and so on.
These ticket sales cover our costs
for prizes, advertisement, judges,
sound tech, etc.
4) NO COVER
OR TRIBUTE BANDS. Please limit the
amount of covers you use in a set.
We're looking for ORIGINAL bands.
5) NO PYROTECHNICS.
Period. To enhance your stage performance,
we suggest bringing lighting, use
dry ice, etc. please let us know in
advance if you plan to use a smoke
machine.
6) All bands
are responsible for their gear. We
will supply a 5 peice drum kit (bring
your own hardware, cymbals, snare,
stands, and pedal), 2 guitar cabinets
(4x12), bass cabinet (4x10), PA system,
sound tech, mics, and mic stands.
7) Each band
has a 30 minute set list. Any band
that goes over their set time will
be disqualified.
8) There is
15 minute set-up and break down. If
your band is not ready to go by your
set time, that time will be taken
out of your set, and you will be disqualified.
9) All band
members must be 18 or older to compete.
If any member is under the age of
18, a parent or guardian must be present
at registration.
10) Any destruction
of the venue, or property of any of
the battle affiliates will result
in disqualification from the battle.

All bands and
artists in the 2008 Battle of the
Bands must provide accurate information
on this form. Rules to the battle
apply to ALL artists, there are no
exceptions. Any artist who violates
any rule of the event will be disqualified.
There will be 3 rounds, Semi-Finals,
and then Finals. Celebrity judges
will only be present at the Finals.
The First 3 rounds and Semi-Finals,
judges will vary. Bands are judged
based on 25% Stage Performance, 25%
talent, and 50% crowd response. Tickets
must be sold in order to compete in
the battle of the bands, and qualify
for the prizes. There is a 15 Ticket
Minimum for the First Round. You MUST
sell a minimum of 15 tickets. Each
ticket will be sold for $10 face value.
All money for ticket sales are due
the day of your performance. We will
only allow entry for the amount of
tickets paid for. Monster Energy,
Adrenaline NYC, Uranium Studios, Beyond
Driven Records, Red Star Bar, The
Charleston, Maxim Radio, any of our
affiliates or judges are in no way
responsible for lost, damaged, or
stolen equipment. Any damage to the
venue or property of our affiliates
will result in termination from the
competition and prosecution to the
fullest extent of the law. All artists
are required to pay the non-negotiable,
non-refundable $20 registration fee.
Prizes will be received by winners
at the Final Round. Prizes include
$5,000 Cash (First prize), a three
song demo recorded at Uranium Studios
(Second Prize), and a third prize
TBA. All winners will receive a 5,000
CD compilation disc distributed by
Beyond Driven Records. Bands will
be eliminated on a round-by-round
basis. 10 Bands will move on to the
final round to compete for the prizes.
All rules, Venue, are subject to change
at any time. All performers under
the age of 18 must have a parent or
guardian read and sign this form in
their behalf. The signer of this form
maintains full responsibility for
the performer. All competitors must
obey all rules of the venue and battle.
Venue security reserves the right
to eject anyone (performer or not)
from the venue without refund. All
bands must arrive at venue with ticket
money and equipment 1 hour prior to
doors opening. Late bands will be
disqualified. All artists must read,
accept and understand the above terms
in order to compete.
